The Grand Rapids Griffins hold Bud Beer Can Mascot Races during the games – truly, Bud Beer-on-Ice! The success of something like a beer can mascot is in the details. A beer can has a slight indentation on the top and bottom of the can. Without that indentation, its a soup can.

….and then there is the poptop. That really makes the beer cans lovable. I love the poptops on these cans. The poptop is important – it’s quite visible from the stands—–and—–it provides great ventilation for the performer.

Us mascot makers think about ventilation all of the time. It’s really the most important feature of a mascot – invisible and essential.

….oh yeah, and get a look at Griff, that handsome, silver-winged mascot w/ a big beak. He makes my heart pitter patter – swoon!
