It’s good to go out and wander the world. I celebrated New Years at sea, on the Norwegian Pearl – cruising through the Caribbean – dancing to a reggae beat with my husband and sipping on champagne. What could be better?
….well, nothing really….except it felt like the event was missing a mascot.
Of course, as a mascot maker, I have a larger desire to rub noses with mascots than the average Joe, I suppose. When I’m out having fun with the rest of humankind. I want a mascot to bring people to the dance floor, to greet children in the morning, to bring diverse groups together on the ship
We saw a few mascots at various ports while we were cruising the dazzling, blue waters of the Caribbean. The mascots were great at posing for photos, but the mascot/person encounters were too brief – a quick photo, was it.
Now, mascot do love to pose.
Mascot mime the joy of the encounter when posing for a photo. I’m always on the look-out for the great person/mascot dynamic.
I missed a regular encounter with a mascot on the ship. Cruises are the perfect habitat for mascots.
Mascot greet people when they arrive. whenever a mascot shows up, a community grows up around the mascot. Mascots bring children and adults together. When a mascot shows up, you know you’re going to have fun!
The only thing missing on my marvelous cruise was a always-on-board, cruise mascot.

My dear friend and Jennifer,
I just watched your studio tour movie and was thrilled to see you in action. Is the pink haired beauty your daughter?
It was so nice talking to you in the library of our cruise ship and thanks again for the drink at the bar!
Did you ever get to the window overlooking the bridge?
Take care, love, Christl
PS: I am knitting baby socks right now instead of preparing my Latin exams….
