The genesis of a company tells a lot about the company culture. It is the DNA.
As founder and “Queen of Fuzz” at AvantGarb, I have brought my own set of values – the company culture. I was nurtured by Friends of the Rag – a costume performance group in Seattle in the 1970’s. I designed and produced high-concept costumes at places like San Francisco’s Beach Blanket Babylon, as well as a slew of other theaters, galleries, museums and performance spaces in California, NYC and the midwest. I learned from the best.
Costume, props people and artists populate the AvantGarb’s studio. Like Chipotle, we, too, have a well trained, experienced staff and collaborators. I call them the Mascot Mavens.
They bring all their experienced artist and designer eyes and they bring their and creative problem-solving abilities.
Our company culture is searching out creative solutions, new materials and new technologies when we design and create mascots. We have a culture of paying well and expecting high quality.
We care about how the mascot is made, where the materials come from & how carefully it is designed. It’s a winning recipe.
….and we know that making mascots is a funny occupation. All of the mascots are spiced with a wee bit of silly and a healthy dose of hilarious.
Making mascots is serious fun.
